HISTORY: Lakeland & Company began in 1979 with the launch of Rubbedin Hotplate Cleaner and Preserver, now known as Hotplate Magic. At that time Cast-Iron Hotplate Stoves were quite popular in Australian households and Hotplate Magic was the only product specifically designed to restore the cast-iron elements and prevent rusting and pitting. As a result, Rubbedin Hotplate Magic was welcomed by Australian supermarkets, hardware stores and independent outlets.

The company went on to develop numerous products designed to maintain and repair Cast-Iron Pot-Belly Stoves and Combustion Heaters. These are now referred to as our Fuel Stove Range and are available in supermarkets, hardware stores and independent Fuel Stove retailers across the country.  

During the 1990's the product range expanded considerably to include a whole new range of modern products. In fact, the company was the first to introduce BBQ, Ceramic Glass Cooktop, Kettle and Washing Machine cleaners to the Australian market. In the late 1990's the company also introduced their own Granite, Metal, and Iron cleaners to Australian supermarkets and hardware stores.

In order to modernise their image, in 2006 the BBQ, Ceramic Glass Cooktop, Kettle and Washing Machine cleaning products were repackaged and rebranded. At the same time, Lakeland & Co also introduced five new products into the supermarkets namely; Oven & Grill Magic, Rangehood Magic, Stainless Steel Magic, Spa Bath Magic and Descale Magic. Thus the Rubbedin Magic Range was born.

Elements Of The Magic Range: All the products encompassed within the Magic Range are safe to use in your home and around your family, because they are non-toxic and do not contain any harmful chemicals.  

The Magic Range of products are also environmentally responsible because they are biodegradable and non-hazardous. These are proudly labelled with our "Go Clean Go Green" logo.
