HISTORY: Lakeland & Company began in 1979 when Dr. Don Lakeland, a metallurgist and specialist in cast iron, invented the Rubbedin Hotplate Cleaner and Preserver, now known as Hotplate Magic. He went on to develop numerous products designed to maintain and repair cast iron pot belly stoves and combustion heaters. These are now referred to as our Fuel Stove Range.

During the 1990's the product range expanded considerably to include a whole new range of modern products. In fact, the company was the first to introduce BBQ, Cooktop, Kettle, and Washing Machine cleaners to the Australian market. In the late 90's the company also introduced their own Granite, Metal, and Iron cleaners to consumers.

In June 2005 new management took over. The new owner, Mr. Smits, and the Rubbedin team worked closely together to once again expand the range offered to consumers. In 2006 the company introduced five new products into the supermarkets; Oven & Grill Magic, Rangehood Magic, Stainless Steel Magic, Spa Bath Magic, and Descale Magic. The team also repackaged and re-branded all the products developed since the 1990's, modernising their image and appeal, and so the Magic Range was re-born.

POLICY: Lakeland and Company has a firm policy of producing only top quality products that are highly effective and safe. We endeavour to continually broaden our range and exceed customer expectations at all times. Our goal is to become the leading brand in the specialty cleaning sector.
